About me
Hello! My name is Vitaly, and music is my life. Since childhood, I have been struck by the mysterious beauty of musical instruments, their timbres and shapes, and especially the brilliance of brass winds - that’s how I started to play trumpet. I was sure that the person who blows the brass instrument is touching some secret unknown to the rest, something primordial… Starting with listening of a classical big-band jazz, my interest has moved to funk and reggae in a musical college, and of course, to classical music as the pinnacle of musical art in our live.
At the age of 19 I entered the Moscow Conservatory in the department of the symphony orchestra. At that time I was impressed by trumpet players like Erik Truffaz, Nils Petter Molvaer, and Arve Henriksen - they use the trumpet going beyond the usual music making - adding a lot of electronics and mixing sounds like alchemists - and it captured me. Keeping my love and interest in electronic music, during my studies at the conservatory I also played in symphony orchestras in the best halls of Moscow - the Great Hall of the Conservatory, the Moscow House of Music, the Philharmonic, and others.
But still, my heart belongs more to the pop scene. After conservatory, my symphonic career was over and I started to play with bands of any music style - we played rock on classical strings, played Tchaikovsky in hip-hop, and a lot of Balkan music with brass band, much of it! Over time, I became a producer from just a performer and began to write my own music. In parallel with composing music for my own gigs, I worked as a composer for various projects, such as Animopus (Second Prize on Digital Ehon Awards, Japan; Top Charts AppStore Russia) - this is a children's app for which I wrote about 90 tracks.
Now my musical life is divided into several projects - I play experimental electronic music (albums "Visions" and "Requiem" feat. Itsu), collaborate with bands as a session musician (Zoloto, OQJAV, Sevak Khanagyan, etc.), and perform lounge/pop electronics in the "Sunset Trumpet". I believe that music touches the very essence of the human soul and gives us a new unique experience for everyone. Each performance is a magic journey for me and my listeners, together we move in the stream of musical waves to discover something new in ourselves.
